Kay Dugery is a consensus builder, as well as a business professional, mom, community volunteer, and informed citizen. She was born in Dallas, TX, and was raised in New York State by a single mother. Following high school, Kay earned a bachelor’s in marketing from New York University’s Stern School of Business, then earned an MBA with a Marketing concentration from Villanova University. She and her husband, Peter, met in graduate school and chose to settle in Haverford.

She has made a successful career in recruiting for companies in an array of industries including medical devices, life sciences, manufacturing, and services. Kay has been civically engaged as her precinct’s Judge of Elections, leading a coalition to address neighborhood issues, plus a supporter of candidate campaigns.  Rather than remaining in the background, she committed to run for higher office to address many issues that she and others find concerning. Kay’s community service includes: volunteering with the Interfaith Hospitality Network, focusing on helping homeless families achieve sustainable independence; serving on her church programs; supporting her children’s schools parent associations; and leading her daughter’s Girl Scout troop.  The Dugerys have three children plus two dogs and three cats.
