Candidate for DA raises questions about safety and security at George W. Hill Correctional Facility

“Republican District Attorney candidate Beth Stefanide-Miscichowski called for an independent investigation into the death of an inmate at the county jail in February as part of a wide-ranging critique of county oversight at the facility. ‘We should all have serious concerns about the safety within and the operations of George Hill Correctional Facility,’ said Stefanide-Miscichowski at a press conference on the County Courthouse steps Thursday afternoon. ‘The county took responsibility to house these individuals, now there is a legal responsibility. You must provide reasonable good faith medical care and you must keep the people … you’re in charge of … safe.’”
