Delaware County Republican Party Has New Leader

Media businessman and Springfield school board member Frank Agovino has been elected as new chair of the Delaware County Republican Party.

Thomas McGarrigle stepped down from the post at a special meeting held at Springfield Country Club on Nov. 29. He was the middle of serving a four-year term. Agovino was elected to fulfill that term by a unanimous vote of Republican committee people.

“As Chair, I bring a fresh, outsider’s perspective and my initial focus is going to be strengthening the party’s infrastructure, including better communications with our committee people and residents, as well as getting more people involved in the party and our local campaigns,” Agovino said.
